obscure joys
Apr. 10th, 2007 09:25 amWe have a whiteboard at work where we write up goals and totals and that sort of inspiring data. Say our goal is 30 completions on a given project in one day: we write up how many have been completed so far, and update it as the day goes on.
This is more or less my job. I try to make it more entertaining for people by drawing pictures around the totals. Usually round objects, because that fits in the space and leaves room to write the number. Snowballs, suns, and so on.
The other day I did a pennyfarthing bicycle. The last total I wrote in before I left was 6.
Today I came in after the long weekend, and someone had written underneath:
I am not a number! I am a free man!
So today I drew a stick figure being pursued by giant attack bubbles.
Not unconnected somehow to my having seen The Lives of Others yesterday with the fabulous Z. Comments about that hopefully follow.

ps. If that wasn't funny, this or this might help.
