Last night

Editing when the power went out at midnight. Shut everything down, put on wooly jacket, and went outside. Walked under a pinkish overcast glow so bright that I could navigate clearly. Nearly perfect quiet, except for caught rainwater dripping from leaves and whatever moved under them. It felt more like pre-dawn than the middle of the night.
