today i kissed my shoes
Jun. 28th, 2006 07:53 pmNo, it wasn't a sex thing.
Sadly.
I kissed my shoes because I ran my 2.5k morning run in something like 3/4 of the usual time, and that was with lots of rudging (that's running that's more like trudging, but is still in running rhythm, if you see what I mean) for unfamiliar footfeel and adaptive arch cramps. (My arch nemesis. Ahahaha.) I kissed my shoes because they are going to save me from foot destruction.
stitchinmyside kindly went all over downtown with me to get a proper pair of shoes. Maybe you know that fear of buying the Wrong Ones? Even though I was running in a pair of fashion sneakers with blown-out soles and anything had to be better.
And is better. So, so much better. We ran on Sunday, and that was all right -- we did a longer run than usual -- but it wasn't shiny. This was very nearly shiny.
In other news, I am currently re-reading an Agatha Christie novel I found on the sidewalk. Not even a very good one. But I tell people I am working on Tropic of Cancer. Which technically, I am. Just not today.
