p.s. The imaginary city is always so much better than the real one. Cling to the veil! i myself am trying really hard to live in an ominous island kingdom of eerie magicks (gotta have the "k") and not a dumpy tourist town.
I had a great idea for a story in which a cadre of evil industrialists who meet in that mysterious men's club by the Empress try to raise a demon using all those freaking orca statues and end up accidentally raising a monstrous whale-beast that rises up from beneath the Empress shrugs it off like gravel and digs a massive furrow to the sea.
